Drip Campaign

A drip campaign is a series of pre-written emails sent automatically on a set schedule or in response to a subscriber’s actions, designed to nurture contacts over time rather than in a single blast.

In depth

Unlike a one-off broadcast, a drip runs on a timeline — for example day 0, day 3, and day 7 after signup — or advances when a contact takes an action. Because each message is queued in advance, the sequence keeps engaging subscribers without manual sending.

Example

A five-email welcome drip that introduces the brand over the first two weeks. Automated emails like these convert at about 2.11% on average, versus roughly 0.08% for one-off campaigns (Omnisend 2025 dataset, 470M automated sends).
